Cwm Aman Ammanford Carmarthenshire Wales
The Amman Valley is the valley of the River Amman in South Wales, UK.
The valley (Welsh: Cwm Aman) stretches from the Loughor river at Pantyffynnon in a largely north-easterly direction to Rhosaman, from where the Amman river heads north into the Black Mountain range.|
Towns and villages within the valley include Pantyffynnon, Ammanford, Pontamman, Hopkinstown, Glanaman, Garnant, Brynamman and Rhosaman.|
In the 19th and early 20th centuries the valley was a booming coal-mining area, but the mines have now closed and the valley environment has been considerably improved with developments such as the Amman Valley Trotting Club at Tairgwaith, cleaner waters, outdoor activities encouraged, including riverside walks, forest paths and mountain biking trails.
