The River Amman (Welsh: Afon Aman) is a river in South Wales. The Amman flows from its sources, which include the Aman Fach and the Aman Fawr, in the Black Mountain range to its confluence with the River Loughor at Pantyffynnon. | The river gives its name to the town of Ammanford and the villages of Pontamman, Glanamman, Brynamman and Rhosaman. In the 19th and early 20th centuries the valley was a booming coal-mining area, but the mines have now closed and the valley environment has been considerably improved with developments such as the Amman Valley Trotting Club, cleaner waters, outdoor activities encouraged including riverside walks, forest paths and mountain biking trails.
