Ogmore Vale Bridgend County Wales
The River Ogmore (Welsh: Afon Ogwr) is a river in South Wales. The River Ogmore rises at Craig Ogwr (527m) in the Ogmore Valley as the Ogwr Fawr before linking with the Ogwr Fach at Blackmill.

It runs generally from north to south from the Ogmore Vale and Gilfach Goch, past Bridgend and Ogmore, before spilling into the Bristol Channel between Ogmore-by-Sea and the Merthyr Mawr sand-dunes.

Walkers and cyclists are well catered for in the River Ogmore valley. The Ogmore Valley Trail and Cycle Route, 13 km (8 mile), runs along the banks of both the River Ogmore and the Ogwr Fawr from Aberkenfig in Bridgend to Nantymoel.

The Ogwr Ridgeway Walk crosses the Ogmore
Valley taking in the valleys of the Ogwr Fawr and Ogwr Fach, the Garw
and the Llynfi. The scenery varies from windswept heights with fine
views to the woodlands and arable farms of the valley sides and floors.

The River Ogmore
is also popular with anglers who target salmon, sewin, grayling and
brown trout from streams high in the hills to the estuary, where bass,
mullet and flounder can be fished.
