The Afon Cwm Llan is a river that rises on the southern slopes of Snowdon, Gwynedd, North Wales. The river runs through the hanging valley of Cwm Llan between the peaks of Y Lliwedd and Yr Aran.Afon Cwm Llan tumbles through a picturesque series of waterfalls before joining the Afon Glaslyn close to Bethania in the Nant Gwynant Valley.

Following heavy rain the gently tumbling falls become a raging torrent popular with wild water enthusiasts in canoes and kayaks. On the day of our visit, in March 2012, a couple of local lads were swimming in the crystal clear blue waters of Afon Cwm Llan, however this was an exceptionally hot day for March in Snowdonia and the waters must have been feezing cold!
