Cader Idris Dolgellau Gwynedd Wales
The Afon Arran is a river in the south of Gwynedd, West Wales. It rises on the slopes of Mynydd Moel and is fed by Llyn Arran. The river flows through the town of Dolgellau before joining the Afon Wnion. The Wnion is the largest tributary of the Afon Mawddach. The wooded valley of Afon Arran is part of the Cadair Idris Site of Special Scientific Interest for its Atlantic bryophyte interest, but is also of interest due to its use by otters and its status as a salmon-spawning tributary of Afon Wnion.
