Dwygyfylchi Penmaenmawr Conwy_County Wales
North Wales' only Austrian Restaurant was established in the lovely village of Dwygyfylchi (pronounced Dolgavulki) in 1989. Nestling at the bottom of the beautiful Sychnant Pass, between the historic town of Conway and Penmaenmawr, the restaurant is sited in a building built in 1786 which has always been associated with the catering trade. It has housed Tea Rooms, a Fish and Chip shop, a cafe, a Bistro and a Steak Bar in its long history - and now a European Restaurant. The owners Fredi and Judith Pigler offer good "Burgerliche Kuche" (wholesome home-cooked food) at reasonable prices. Fredi, the chef, was born in Baden, lower Austria, and trained in Vienna. He met his Beaumaris born wife when she was working in Saalbach, Salzburg. They pride themselves as offering consistent quality of food and service whilst at the same time enjoying getting to know their customers in their friendly, intimate restaurant.
