Wild Thyme as found on Llanddwyn Island on the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales. <br><br> Its scientific name is Thymus polytrichus.<br><br> Wild Thyme is also known by several other names - Bank Thyme, Breath-of-God, Brotherwort, Hill Thyme, Hillwort, Horse Thyme, Mother-of-thyme, Running Betony, Shepherd's Thyme. <br><br> Wild thyme has square stems that are hairy on two sides, and oval leaves. The purple flower heads are rounded with individual flowers typically 1/4",5 mm, across.
