This delightful reserve is set in the heart of mid-Wales near Ystradffin, Rhandirmwyn. Dinas is a circular walk, steep and difficult in a couple of locations, but generally a pleasant walk. The mature oak woodland is alive in summer with arrival of hundreds of pied and spotted flycatcher, wood warbler, blackcap, willow warbler, chiffchaff and redstart to name a few. There are hundreds of nest boxes, with an estimated 200+ pairs of pied flycatchers present. Kingfishers and dippers are regular, and goosander found on the river. Red Kites are a big attraction, and are seen daily. Peregrines nest up at the reservoir and are regular visitors. Ravens are resident.
