This unique collection is thought to be the oldest collection of antiquities surviving in Britain, having been started by the Senhouse family in 1570. It includes Roman sculpture and inscription of international importance, many of which came from the Roman fort next to the Battery. Newly built observation tower to view the fort and coast. Visit the gallery showing the history of the museum building as a Naval Reserve Battery (1885).
