Bwlch Nant-yr-Arian Visitor Centre Ponterwyd Ceredigion Wales
The Syfydrin is one of three main mountain bike trails at Nant yr Arian all starting from the Bwlch Nant yr Arian Visitor Centre close to the village of Ponterwyd. The visitor centre is conveniently located just off the A44 in a beautiful lakeside setting. The Nant-yr-Arian Syfydrin Mountain Bike Trail is the daddy of the trails and includes sections of the Pendam and Summit trails and some! It takes you up into the lung bursting high hills and drops you down into the wet river valleys, but all the while rewarding your efforts with fantastic views and a superb ride. The 22 mile Syfydrin track demands that you are well prepared however, with ample food, clothing, and spares. The weather in Wales can be changeable to say the least so let someone know where you are going and when you expect to return. The route takes in the lakes of Llyn Blaenmelindwr, Llyn Syfydrin, skirts Llyn Nant y Moch, and travels a huge loop before returning to the visitor centre via Llyn Pendam. Grade : Difficult.
