Point Lynas Lighthouse is located on the headland at the north east corner of the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales. The station has operated since the late 18th Century as a signalling station for Liverpool vessels. For many years the signalling was a system of flags that communicated with similar semaphore stations along the North Wales coastline all the way to Liverpool. The present lighthouse was built in 1835 by the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board and Trinity House took over responsibility in 1973. The lighthouse is a white painted castellated building with the lens room connected to the seaward side of the building.
