Helsby Golf Club is situated in leafy Cheshire and only 7 miles from the Roman city of Chester. Founded in 1901, its 18-hole par-70 parklands course over 6,265 yards was designed by James Braid and today's course and clubhouse feature superb facilities in beautiful surroundings. Helsby Golf Club is a very friendly members' club, fully owned and run by the members for its members, who are always assured of a game on their course without the need to book. We also welcome visitors and societies and proudly have Peter Alliss as one of our honorary members. We look forward to seeing you at the club. Visitors: Visitors are very welcome to come and play at Helsby - and take advantage of our clubhouse with its excellent bar and restaurant facilities. Individual visitors are asked to check we have no competitions on before arranging a game. Alternatively you can take advantage of our online tee time booking system especially for visitors - just click the 'Find Tee Time' button on the website. And don't forget our Open Competitions! Helsby Golf Club has a very active membership of over 500 members. It is a very friendly club and we welcome new applications from all sections - Men's, Ladies' and Juniors'. Course: The original course designed by James Braid was only 9 holes long and is today's front 9. The extra 9 holes were added in the late 60s to make a challenging but enjoyable par 70 course over 6,275yds. The course is generally described as parklands, mostly flat and with an interesting complement of trees and lakes and has now established itself as one of the best club courses in Cheshire. Facilities: Helsby Golf Club has excellent facilities enjoyed by Members, Visitors and Societies alike. Our Pro Shop has all the essentials for the discerning golfer and well equipped locker rooms ensure you can change and shower in complete comfort before retiring to the clubhouse with its excellent food and drink. The bar and restaurant with their magnificent views over the course provide a welcome retreat after a round of golf or if you just feel like popping in for a drink or a meal in very pleasant surroundings. And prices at the bar are very attractive too! Societies: Societies are very welcome to come and play at Helsby. In addition to a super course, your Society can take advantage of our clubhouse with its excellent bar and restaurant facilities.
