Newton House and Dinefwr Park stands close to Llandeilo above the Towy Valley, South Wales. At the heart of the park is Newton House, a 17th-century building enveloped in a Victorian Gothic facade. Following restoration, it is now open and contains an exhibition explaining the significance of Dinefwr is Welsh history. The fountain garden at the rear of the house is currently under restoration.| Within the park can be found Dinefwr Castle which dates from the 12th century. |This magnificent 18th-century landscape park was home to many famous Welsh kings and nobles, including Hywel Dda and the Lord Rhys. The deer park is an internationally important Site of Special Scientific Interest, with beautiful old trees, a herd of fallow deer and the celebrated Dinefwr White Park cattle. Paths through the estate give superb views over the Towy Valley and a boardwalk, suitable for families and wheelchair users, meanders through attractive Bog Wood. There is also access to Dinefwr Castle (CADW).
