Celebrating the birthdays of Dylan Thomas and Karl Jenkins. Welcome to the Gower Festival 2014. This festival promises to be full of exciting and varied concerts, with wonderful music, as well as new events such as pre concert talks, master classes and a jazz concert.|
There is a great line up of international artists, starting with two outstanding Welsh talents, pianist Llyr Williams and Swansea born cellist, Thomas Carroll. Charismatic Latvian accordionist, Kesnija Sidorova makes her first Welsh appearance before dashing off to perform in Berlin the next day.|
The grand finale weekend includes a welcome return by the brilliant orchestra of the Yehudi Menuhin School, with a special tribute to our former Artistic Director and composer, Gareth Walters.|
We end the Festival by celebrating the 70th birthday of Karl Jenkins, as he conducts his own music with choir, orchestra and soloists in the beautiful setting of Tabernacle Chapel in Penclawdd, his birthplace.
Welcome home Karl!
