The North Wales Cycle Route at Penrhyn Bay sits between the Llandudno - Conwy Estuary section and the Colwyn Bay - Rhos-on-Sea section. Yes here in North Wales we are blessed with one of the best sections of the UK cycle route with traffic free cycling along the coast from Prestatyn through to Conwy. Locals use the route simply to get about safely between the coastal towns, while visitors use it en-route from Holyhead to Chester and further afield. Note I describe the route from west to east as this takes advantage of the prevailing winds. I often feel sorry when I see cyclists heading off on a day out on a round trip to Abergele or Rhyl with the wind on their backs. Big mistake ..unless there is an unusual easterly wind its always best to head out west on the outward journey. | Our picture is taken on a spot just a five minute detour from the cycle route and takes in a pleasant location below the Little Orme at Angel Bay. It is always worth a visit as you never know when the seals or dolphins will make an appearance at Angel Bay, and it is always a pleasant spot for a picnic.
