Sirhowy Valley Country Park is a great base for walking or cycling. Take a gentle stroll along the former railway track (it’s flat!) or ramble down through the Flatwoods Meadows Local Nature Reserve alongside the Sirhowy River. You can visit the recently restored Penllwyn Tramroad Bridge complete with original stone sleepers. Ynys Hywel Farm, a traditional working hill farm, managed by the Countryside and Landscape Service, is open all year for school visits. A small farm trail is open all year round. Close by is Graig Goch Local Nature Reserve, an ancient and beautiful mixed woodland. There’s a steep climb to reach it but the views are great! Facilities: Art (Public) - Healthy walking route - Waymarked trails - Cycle routes - Toilets (accessible for people with disabilities)- Parking (8:30-5:30 summer / 8:30-4:30 winter) - Picnic areas
