Borth Beach, Beaches Borth, Ceredigion - Wales where to go, what to see and where to stay in Wales

Borth Ceredigion Wales
Borth beach is located on the Cardigan Bay coast between the Dyfi estuary and the town of Aberystwyth in the county of Ceredigion, West Wales. The beach is a mixture of shingle and sand stretching almost three miles to Ynyslas. The beach has been awarded the highest standard grade for water quality (2010) and is a popular location for swimming, surfing, fishing, sailing and windsurfing…. and for walking the dog out of season. The legend of Cantre’r Gwaelod is related to an ancient submerged forest which is visable at low tide along the stretch of shore. Pine, Oak, Birch and Willow stumps can be seen when the tide retreats up to 150 yards. When it is high tide on the beach, principally shingles remain on the beach, though when it is low tide a large stretch of sand can be seen extending over miles towards Ynyslas. Facilities include toilets and disabled toilets. Borth beach also has a slipway for launching small boats and a cafe close by.
