Cefn Sidan beach has been described as one of Europes best beaches. The beach, is a seven mile sandy beach backed by sand-dunes and is half a mile to the sea at it's narrowest when the tide is out. Cefn Sidan (the winner of the coveted Blue Flag award) is within the Pembrey Country Park, and even on a bank holiday, if you are willing to walk, you can easily find a more remote area for yourself to relax. Cefn Sidan is also safe for bathing but is recommended in the flagged lifeguard patrolled area only. Lifeguards operate from 1st June to September 30th.|Within the Pembrey Country Park there are nature trails, forest walks, and cycle tracks and facilities for the disabled are excellent. There is also a caf/restaurant, a first aid post, a lost child centre and a shop selling beach goods.| The beach is popular for kite-buggying or kite-mountainboarding and, with its miles of sand dunes, has also earned a reputation as an unofficial nudist beach.Although this is frowned upon by the local authority: county parks manager Neil Perry said: “The Council’s position towards Naturism on Cefn Sidan has not changed since 1998. “We do not encourage nudism on the Council owned beach and to that end we have ‘Nudity is NOT permitted’ text on the beach section of the map on our main Park map which is handed out to visitors on arrival at the Park."
