Aberavon Beach, Beaches Aberavon, Neath Port Talbot - Wales where to go, what to see and where to stay in Wales

Aberavon Neath_Port_Talbot Wales
Aberavon Beach is located at Port Talbot, South Wales. It is a strange beach – it has 3 miles of sandy beach and is popular with surfers, jet-skiers, windsurfers and kite surfers. It is safe for swimming, kayaking and boating, and has fine views across Swansea Bay to Mumbles. However, the beach sits in the shadow of some really ugly steel works, although this in no way deters the locals. | I quote from the Aberavon Beach website: | The Aberavon seafront is fast becoming the destination for a great family day out. On a hot day the safe sandy beach is a haven for hundreds of people enjoying either swimming in the sea or the aquasplash play pool, which is conveniently located on the promenade and is a great draw for the kids. Each year a very successful and hugely popular beach festival takes centre stage at the seafront. Whilst Just across the road from the beach is the Reel cinema with ample free parking. | The surfing can be really good but also dangerous at high tide. Beginners should surf on a dropping tide and avoid the southern area, near the breakwater.
