Pembrokeshire Coast St Nicholas Pembrokeshire Wales
Aber Mawr Bay beach near St Nicholas in Pembrokeshire is a sand, shingle and pebble beach that faces the Irish Sea. Behind the beach is an interesting cottage ruin, a bluebell wood and rich marsh land climbing the hill. Aber Mawr Bay beach is remote and rural and at low tide exposes tree stumps buried in the sand. These tree stumps are what remains of a forest which was drowned by a sudden flood after an ice sheet melted eight thousand years ago. Activities at the beach include swimming, surfing and fishing and also coastal walks as the Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs along the beach head, this walk offers fantastic scenery. The beach has been described as a quiet secluded beach where you can escape the husle and bustle of modern life.
