Fishguard Bay Goodwick Pembrokeshire Wales
Goodwick Sands in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire is a small sandy beach adjacent to the ferry terminal. The main ferry line to Ireland sails from here. The beach is small, facing the Irish Sea and is in a small bay. This sandy beach has a promenade above the top of the beach and it is also on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. The town of Goodwick was a fishing village but the main industry is now tourism, although some fishing still takes place, most activity is focussed around Milford Haven. There is a water sports centre at the beach and also diving and kayaking operators based here. Other popular activities at the beach include swimming, sea canoeing, sailing, jet skiing, windsurfing and power boating. Dolphins and basking sharks are frequently seen from the beach, as they often swim around the harbour. Facilities at the beach include food, disabled toilets, shops and a slipway.
