Parrog Beach in Newport, Pembrokeshire is located in Newport Bay between Fishguard Bay to the west and Cemaes Head to the north east. The beach lies at the mouth of the River Nyfer (Afon Nyfer) which rises at Blaencwm, to the east of Crymych, and is around 11 miles in length. The river discharges into the Irish Sea. The beach is large and sandy and offers a host of birdlife and watersport opportunities. Surfing, boating, rock-pooling are popular activities at the beach, as well as walks around the estuary and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Facilities at the beach include food, disabled toilets, shops and a slipway.
