Talsarnau is situated in the county of Gwynedd, within the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. Talsarnau is a small village but with plenty to offer. A five-minute walk leads to one of Wales' most beautiful estuaries, and a further 2 mile walk along the banks of the Glaslyn estuary offers fabulous views of the hills of Snowdonia and Cardigan Bay.
On reaching the mouth of the estuary, the wide sands of Morfa Harlech stretch out for mile after mile. But you won't be alone .....there is an abundance of wildlife on the Morfa Harlech Nature Reserve. Continue south along the edge of the sand dunes and the magnificent site of Harlech Castle comes into view. | Harlech Castle, just 4 miles from Talsarnau, is a World Heritage Site, and one of Wales' finest castles. The world famous village of Portmeirion is a mere 2 miles away as the crow flies. However, you might choose to take the long way round as the crows fly over the Dwyryd River.
