Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent

Ebbw Vale is a former industrial town located in the valleys of Blaenau Gwent, near the Brecon Beacons National Park. In 1938 the steelworks opened in Ebbw Vale, followed by several coal mines, but by the 1980s the works and mines began to close.

Ebbw Vale is home to the Festival Park Branded Outlet, built upon the former National Green Festival site, with forty stores including the Edinburgh Woollen Mill, The Works and Madhouse menswear. The Ebbw Vale rugby club, nicknamed 'The Steelmen', are well known in the rugby world, having come second in the Premierships in 2007. With plenty of shopping opportunities and the upcoming Eisteddfod, Ebbw Vale looks set to be a popular destination.
