Ponterwyd is a village that stands in the upper reaches of the Rheidol Valley in Ceredigion, Wales. It lies approximately 12 miles (19 km) east of Aberystwyth at the junction of the A44 and A4120 roads.
The village is centred around 'Hen Bont' (English: Old Bridge), an 18th-century stone bridge, and the adjacent Ponterwyd Methodist Chapel, a late Georgian chapel. Further down the road stands the local pub and restaurant the George Borrow Hotel, named after the famous writer George Borrow who travelled Wales on foot in the 1860's. ....
