Little Salkeld has made its name as being the location of the only watermill still working in Cumbria. Situated 27 miles south east of Carlisle and 7 miles north east of Penrith, Little Salkeld is also close to the Lake District National Park, with Ullswater lying less than 20 minutes away.
Built in 1745, Little Salkeld Watermill continues to produce bread and flours today. Tours can be taken around the mill daily (excluding Wednesdays and Saturdays), and there are tearooms with refreshments, cakes and vegetarian options available.....
