Glascoed is a village that sits on the hills between Pontypool and Usk in Monmouthshire, South East Wales. The village sits at the head of the 434 acres Llandegfedd Reservoir The reservoir itself is run as a country park and supports a sailing club and windsurfing school, and is favoured by anglers who fish for rainbow trout, bream, roach, pike and perch.
The village is around 3.8km south of the River Usk, where a footpath can be taken to follow the river's route, and another walk runs 3km south of Glascoed. There is a large golf course along the eastern side of the reservoir, yet for something a bit different, a leisure centre and ski slope can be found in Pontypool, around 6km west of Glascoed.
