Castell Howell (Howell's Castle) is situated south east of New Quay in West Wales. The hamlet sits on the B4338 near the A475, which runs from Newcastle Emlyn to Lampeter, and is so named after the castle that once stood here. It was also the hometown of David Davies, who translated poet Thomas Gray's 'Elegy in a Country Churchyard' into Welsh.
