It is fashionable to group the
Welsh with the Scots and the Irish in one group called the Celts. But I don't
believe this to be true, the majority of the true Welsh are descendants of
the early British or Brythonic people who populated the British Isles for
thousands of years before the Celts arrived. The Celts became the ruling class
for many years until the later invasions from Europe but the "dark folk"
who still live in the Welsh heartlands are evidence of the original peoples
who where the early inhabitants of Wales and the British Isles. (Visit Cerrig
y Drudion, Bala, Llangwm to see what I mean.)
