Anglesey Coastal Path, Walks Menai Bridge, Anglesey - Wales where to go, what to see and where to stay in Wales

The Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path runs over 125 miles through some of the grandest coastal scenery in Wales – wide sandy bays and estuaries; intimate coves; dramatic cliffs and rocky islets; sand dunes and forests. Much of this coastline is a designated as one of Wales five 'Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.<br><br> Leaving the North Wales coast, it is just a short drive across the Menai Bridge to the Isle of Anglesey. The south coast of Anglesey borders the marvellous Menai Strait, famed for its beautiful waters and marine life. The east coast however boasts glorious countryside and fine beaches at Benllech and Lligwy, and the massive expanse of sands at Red Wharf Bay. The pride of the north coast must be the beaches at Cemaes Bay, while nature lovers and bird watchers favour the lagoon and pebble beach at Cemlyn Bay. Amlwch offers its association with Anglesey’s sea-faring men and its historic copper trade at Parys Mountain.Rounding Carmel Head to the west coast of Anglesey we find the popular beach at Church Bay before crossing to Holy Island, where we find the port of Holyhead, the nature reserve at South Stack and the beaches at Porth Dafarch and Trearddur Bay. Continuing south we come to two of my favourite beaches, Aberffraw and Llanddwyn Island. <br><br> Aberffraw is a picturesque estuary beach backed by sand dunes, while the romantic Llanddwyn Island with its tiny cove beaches is a little piece of heaven dropped to earth!
