Cwm Idwal Walk, Walks Capel Curig, Gwynedd - Wales where to go, what to see and where to stay in Wales

Cwm Idwal walk is a relatively easy walk yet in the dramatic surroundings of the Snowdonia National Park. The walk starts close to Ogwen Cottage next to the A5 between Bethesda and Capel Curig, North Wales. A short walk from the roadside car park leads to the enchanted lake of Llyn Idwal surrounded by the towering cliff faces of the lower slopes of Glyder Fawr. You will have a close up view of the Devil's Kitchen, the Black Hole, or Twll Du. View the mountains of Tryfan, Pen yr Ole Wen, and Glyder Fawr ..all from the relative safety of the lakeside footpath of Cwm Idwal, itself just a 10 minute drive from the busy A55 expressway. |I have listed this walk as "family friendly" - which it is. However I can't recommend it for wheelchairs or pushchairs as the pathway, although fine for walking, is unsuitable for wheels.
