Nant Gwynant is a valley in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. The valley is defined by the slopes of Y Lliwedd and Yr Aran to the north and west and Carnedd y Cribau, Cerrig Cochion, Moel Meirch and Mynydd Llyndy to the south and east. | The A498 road runs through the valley between Beddgelert and Capel Curig. | The lakes of Llyn Dinas and Llyn Gwynant are two natural lakes in Nant Gwynant that lie on the River Glaslyn. | Llyn Gwynant is a very popular destination for kayaking and canoeing, and you can paddle along the Afon Glaslyn river both in and out of Llyn Gwynant. You can bring your own kayaks/canoes or they can be hired from Llyn Gwynant Campsite to the north of the lake during the summer season.| Camping is available on the shores of the lake but be aware that during periods of heavy rain, as with any lakes, the waters can rise quickly and you may have to move your tent.| Some walk from Nant Gwynant to the summit of Snowdon on the Watkin Path. The Watkin Path starts at the Bethania Bridge, situated between the two lakes, and then proceeds through a pass to the hanging valley of Cwm Llan, and on to the summit of Snowdon.
