Rygbi Gogledd Cymru, known as the Gogs, are the new rugby team to represent North Wales. The Sports Stadium to be known as Park Eirias (known locally as Eirias Park) in Colwyn Bay, North Wales, has been identified by the Welsh Rugby Union as the venue for the Gogledd Cymru rugby union side. In light of this a number of improvements are planned to upgrade the present stadium with an eventual goal of becoming the fifth Welsh rugby region. Plans for the new Centre of Excellence for sport, leisure and culture at Parc Eirias , have been submitted to Conwy County Borough Council. The proposals include a rugby training pitch, floodlights, a 2,000-seat grandstand, a weights room and additional car parking, which is set to create a new home ground for Rygbi Gogledd Cymru (North Wales Rugby). ....
