By the time the River Conwy reaches Llanrwst its three major tributaries have already joined the Conwy. From Pont Fawr the river flows north in a sedate manner through the lower reaches of the Conwy Valley before reaching the tidal section close to Tal y Cafn. Considerable protection works have been undertaken in 2009 in parts of Trefriw and lower Llanrwst to prevent flooding when high spring tides combine with heavy rain. ....
