Our menu is short and the dishes change daily, reflecting our local supply. The cuisine is simple and contemporary, but has its roots in traditional fare. We greatly believe that the environment that surrounds you should influence how you eat and live. Living in the Welsh countryside lends us much inspiration as the seasons progress. The coming and going of marine species, the progression from flower to fruit and the gentle metamorphasis of colours in the hedgerows from one flowering to the next. Indeed, our sourcing policy precludes us from being anything but seasonal. Wine at Y Mochyn Drwg: In line with our sourcing policy, our wines are carefully selected from Europe's diverse regions. The Y Mochyn Drwg wine list has been written to represent a wide range of styles and prices. Foremost though, it presents the styles which fit best to our cuisine. The list is a reflection of our tastes and experiences and was originally put together with expertise from Peter McCombie MW. We have wines of every style available by the glass and even more by the half bottle carafe. The list contains examples of organic and biodynamic production, grower champagnes and we have a particular interest in sweet wine. Each night's menu is presented with recommendations which are available by the glass. We hope that you will be tempted to search away from your familar choices and discover some new grapes and regions.
