Nicki and Steve welcome you to the Rhos Yr Hafod Inn. Situated on the edge of the Ceredigion highlands and just four miles from spectactular Cardigan bay, our traditional 19th century Freehouse offers something for both visitors and locals alike. Round off a fun day on the coast with fine ales and great home cooked food in our cosy restaurant or soak up the sun in our pretty beer garden. The Pub: The pub is believed to date from 1849 and retains the original stables, now an intimate and welcoming little restaurant. The front bar has a comfortable settle and a stove to warm yourself by on cold days. Families are welcome to use our lounge room that opens onto the garden at the rear of the pub. We host a quiz night every other Sunday, and we are home to an excellent darts team. The Food: We aim to source our food as locally and seasonally as we can with many items using organic ingredients, which means that our home-cooked menu is constantly evolving and changing, with the exception of a few of our customers' pub favourites. The Beer: The pub has merited an entry in the 2006, 2007 and 2009 Good Beer Guides. We serve Youngs Bitter as our regular brew, with up to two regularly changing cask ales sourced from regional microbreweries. In September we host a three-day beer festival where customers can sample up to seven ales straight from the cask. Ask for our upcoming ales, and if you have a personal favourite, put in a request and we'll do our best to source it for you. The Local Area: Our pub is situated in the stunning rural setting of west Wales. Just 12 miles from the historic university town of Aberystwyth and 4 miles from the pretty port of Aberaeron. The area is well known for its beaches, brightly painted georgian properties and trotting competitions at nearby Tregaron. The local countryside is ideal for walking or mountain biking and there is plenty for the visitor to do and see. ....
