The Drovers Arms is a pub and restaurant in Ffarmers, near Llanwrda, Ceredigion, Wales. Tucked away in peaceful Cwmtwrch years ago, the village square of Ffarmers was the meeting point of two breeds of men: the drovers and the farmers, and was dominated by their respective taverns. While the latter has survived in place-name, the former, the Drovers’ Arms has quenched thirsts and satisfied the appetites of both travellers and locals for centuries. A logical junction for this trade in livestock prior to motorised transport, the village was clamorous with beasts and farmers from the Cambrian Mountains rising to the north and drovers who came along the gentler roads from east and south. The Drovers’ has recently been refurbished and the bar room now boasts a traditional quarry tile floor, wooden beams and a log burning stove, as well as a superb bar crafted by local carpenters. The bar serves a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits. Meals may be taken here or in the cosy non-smoking restaurant, serving varied dishes made with fresh local produce.....
