Outdoorlite Ventures specialises in providing fully qualified and safe instruction in Outdoor Pursuits, including Climbing, Abseiling, Walking, Navigation, Caving, Kayaking and Winter Skills courses. Based in LLandovery, Wales, UK, our courses take place in both Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons, with specialist courses in Scotland and Nepal, and cover all levels of ability. We are a small family run business, totally committed and professional in our approach to customer care and satisfaction. Within a 20 mile radius of Rhiw- Yr-Hwch lie the Brecon Beacons, Carmarthen Fans and Cambrian Mountains. This gives us access to mile upon mile of open hills and valleys, dams, reservoirs, streams and rivers, unrestricted by fences and for the most part, unspoiled by excessive tourism and over-use. The remote and undulating terrain forms the ideal area for Navigation Instruction /Training, remote camping, Mountain and Hill-walking, or, just a challenging adventure. We use local rock outcrops and dis-used quarries as a theatre in which to instruct basic Rock-climbing and Abseiling, although not on the grand scale of Scotland, The Lakes or North Wales, they are the ideal safe starting point for beginners or improvers, wishing to sample this popular and exciting aspect of outdoor pursuits. All technical equipment required on any Course is provided by Outdoorlite Ventures. Rucksacks, Tents, Sleeping Bags, Carrymats, Stoves, eating utensils, Maps, Compasses, Climbing Harnesses, Helmets, Ropes, Ice-axes, Crampons. We also have a stock of basic water-proof clothing and gaiters, etc., that are available for free loan. We do recommend, however, that if candidates have equipment of their own it is more beneficial that they bring and use. During the Course, any information or an unbiased opinion on the suitability of equipment or clothing will be willingly and freely given.
