Llyn Padarn is roughly 2 miles long and linked to the neighbouring Llyn Peris (which forms the lower reservoir of the Dinorwig power station). Padarn Country Park covers some 800 acres and is an ideal place to sample what the countryside and the local industrial heritage can offer. It contains a fascinating Museum on the slate quarrying industry, two Sites of Special Scientific Interest of national importance, a local nature reserve, pleasant lakeside picnic areas, and a wide range of watersports including fun boats, canoeing, windsurfing and sailing at the Padarn Water Sports Centre. For anglers the lake boasts excellent Brown Trout fishing and during the summer months, sport can be had with Alpine Char, both outstanding in appearance and taste. Salmon and Seatrout.
