St Govan's Well is close to St Govan's Chapel on the southernmost tip of Pembrokeshire South West Wales. The Holy Well, or Sacred Well is probably medieval. It is a rectangular stone lined well chamber with a plain masonry hood. The water from St Govan's Well was famous for its healing powers. The Well lies 50 feet, 17m, to seaward of St Govan's Chapel at the base of a rocky gorge. The stone chapel is but 18 feet by 12 feet and is believed to have been built in the 13th Century. Within the chapel itself, near the main entrance, there used to be another well, the water from which was said to be a cure for eye complaints, skin diseases, and rheumatic tendencies.
