The Menai Strait is a narrow stretch of tidal water about 25 kilometres (16 mi) long, which separates the island of Anglesey from the mainland of Wales. The strait stretches from Abermenai Point in the west to the Lavan Sands close to Abergwyngregyn in the east. The strait is famously crossed by two bridges, the Menai Suspension Bridge and the Britannia Bridge. The Menai Suspension Bridge is one of the wonders of Wales, a truly beautiful structure, indeed the Menai Strait is a holiday attraction in itself. To appreciate the Strait take a walk along the Anglesey coastal path. Visit the charming seaside resort of Beaumaris to the east, continuing through Menai Bridge (the small town), on past the Menai and Britannia Bridges with great views of Fish Island and St Tysilio's Church. Enjoy panoramic views of the hills of Snowdonia and the northern coast of Gwynedd including the World Heritage Site of Caernarfon Castle before reaching the sand dunes and more open aspect at Abermenai Point with fantastic views of the Lleyn Peninsula.....
