Llyn Peninsula, Methlem, Gwynedd, Wales,
Whistling Sands Beach is located at Porth Oer on the Llyn Peninsula in the north west of Wales. The white sands are known as Whistling Sands (because of the squeaking sound made by the sand as you walk on it). The beach is in the care of the National Trust. The Llyn Coastal Path passes through the beach. There is an excellent cafe for refreshments, including hot meals, and I can personally recommend the Cornish Pasties. Besides the clear blue waters of Whistling Sands beach children will love the opportunities for rock pooling. The beach can be rather crowded at the height of the season but there is a secluded cove at the north end of the beach for those fit enough to make the scramble down. Car Parking, for a fee, above the beach. ....
