Hotel in Pen y Stryt, Denbighshire
Wales

The historic Bodidris Hall is over 650 years old (built in 1465) and provides a spectacular backdrop for memorable views.
A lake populated with swans and ducks, roaring log fires, baronial dining room and stone mullion windows combine to provide an ambience that cannot be created in modern hotels.
Take a look at the 3-night Christmas package (24 December), for an Olde Worlde Christmas with a roaring log fire.
Bodidris Hall is uniquely placed in that the county boundary between Denbigshire and Flintshire literally runs through the centre of the hall, and the county boundary stone can be seen literally outside the front door.
Guests appreciate the tranquillity that Bodidris offers, together with the sense of peace and privacy that comes from a small select number of guests. Set in a 6,500 acre estate, the views are simply spectacular and although apparently so isolated, the hotel is only 25 minutes from the historic Roman city of Chester.
As you would expect from a stately home, the bedrooms at Bodidris are much larger than in conventional hotels, many with original exposed oak beams and four-poster beds. All rooms have en suite bathrooms.
Having an intimate number of residential guests allows us to offer a very high level of personal service from staff who have all enjoyed many long years of dedicated service at the hotel. Although subtle, the personal service is a feature that many guests compliment our staff on.
With just 9 large bedrooms, Bodidris Hall offers a peaceful retreat with delicious food and the last word in personal service. It simply oozes history from every corner of its ancient Welsh ambience, with wood panelling, stone mullion windows with leaded glass, huge oak beams and huge fireplaces.
The Elizabeth Suite is named in memory of Queen Elizabeth I who is just one of the renowned figures from history to stay at Bodidris Hall.
All bedrooms are completely individual in style and all have been refurbished sympathetically with particular attention to detail and history.
The award-winning restaurant has received an AA Rosette for the outstanding preparation of its food and the good quality of the ingredients it uses. The chefs prepare all the meals using fresh, organic ingredients; they even bake their own bread and prepare a selection of desserts that are unusual, attractive and delicious.
With both the chefs and the restaurant winning many awards for fine Welsh food, the restaurant is one of the most prestigious in North Wales.
There is so much to do locally at all times of the year, spectacular scenery, mountains, waterfalls, cascading rivers, canals, horse-drawn boats, steam railways, slate mines, ancient history, industrial history, historic buildings, excellent walks for all ages and fitness and much more besides.
North Wales also has a spectacular coastline and it is all so easily accessible using our hotel as a base.
Do not forget that Llangollen as well as hosting The International Eisteddfod every July is also the festival capital of Wales with events at The Royal Pavilion throughout the year.
