Hotel in Dolwyddelan, Conwy County
Wales

A former 18th century coaching inn, originally part of the Earl of Ancaster's Welsh estate, this comfortable, family run hotel is full of historic character.
Resting in the centre of the Dolwyddelan, the hotel offers a unique place to relax at the heart of the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales.
Retaining its original character and many fittings, Elen’s Castle Hotel has en suite guestrooms to suit all tastes, including four-poster rooms overlooking the Lledr Valley and River, family suites and accommodation to suit walking groups. We also have a bunkhouse for the traveller on a budget. Dine in our intimate restaurant and enjoy a drink by the wood burning stove in our cosy historic bar.
All rooms are en suite and several have baths as well as showers. Each room is well equipped and furnished for your comfort with a TV, beverage tray, hairdryer, radio alarm clock and wireless broadband internet connection. To ensure a good night's sleep, all our beds are firm (so no roll-togethers). Room service is also available.
The village of Dolwyddelan is the ideal starting place to experience all the sights and sounds of North Wales.
The hotel is located in the centre of the village. Dolwyddelan stands at a natural and historical crossroads, at the foot of Moel Siabod (2861 feet, 872 metres), straddling the trout and salmon rich Afon Lledr, a river which wends its way through meadows and turbulent gorges northwards to join the Afon Conwy at Llyn yr Afanc.
The Castle, just outside the village centre, controls a commanding and awesome panorama, offering breathtaking views from the battlements that take in The Crimea Pass (Bwlch y Gorddinan) and the Moelwyn Mountains, towards Moel Siabod and away to the Denbigh Moors.
Elen's Castle Hotel is just off the A470 which runs through the middle of Snowdonia National Park.
From Chester:
- Exit onto the A55 then A494.
- Exit onto the A5 then A470 (south) for Dolwyddelan, where you will find the hotel.
From the M6 by Birmingham:
- Exit onto the M54, then follow the A5 for Snowdonia National Park.
- Exit onto the A470 and continue as above.
There is a train station in the village.
