Hotel in Beaumaris, Anglesey
Wales

With only 9 bedrooms this Georgian town house can offer an attentive, yet unobtrusive service, combining modern amenities with elegant antiquity.
Antique furniture, glass and china collections adorn the tasteful interior, where you will find a comfortable wood-panelled guest lounge, ideal for restful coffee and liqueurs. Elsewhere, the on site restaurant is one of just 2 Anglesey hotels to have earned an AA rosette, with fresh local produce served daily to keep you refreshed and content.
Bishopsgate is a Georgian town house built in 1755, possibly as a Dower House for a wealthy local family. The hotel boasts a Chinese Chippendale staircase, which is featured in the Welsh book of antiquities.
The hotel has an arrangement with Princess Golf Course and is able to obtain discounted green fees.
The rooms at Bishopsgate blend antique beds with modern amenities; styled and furnished in carefully selected fashion.
The restaurant serves only locally produced food wherever possible, including such delicacies as Salt Marsh Lamb, fresh local fish and Welsh black beef. Homemade desserts and a selection of Welsh cheeses are always on offer. In addition, the hotel has a well-stocked bar with single malt whiskies being a speciality.
Beaumaris Castle (200 metres) - described by some as an unfinished masterpiece, this 13th century castle is one of the most technically ingenious of its kind. Though Edward I was never able to complete it, the castle remains a spectacular, World Heritage inscribed site.
Beaumaris Gaol (200 metres) - a fascinating insight into life in a Victorian prison. Explore the dimly lit corridors, spartan cells, and places of punishment - you can even handle chains and fetters last worn by prisoners of over a century ago.
Museum of Childhood Memories (200 metres) - winner of the British Tourist Authority and National Heritage Museum of the Year Award, here you can view around 2000 items of all types and sizes that provide a nostalgic look back at times now gone.
By car (from the A55):
- Take the A55 over Britannia Bridge onto Anglessey.
- Take the 1st exit after the bridge onto the A5.
- At the end of the exit, turn right and take the A5 in the direction of the Menai Bridge.
- When you reach a roundabout, take the 2nd exit, straight across onto Cil-Bedlam.
- Turn left onto the A545 and follow it to Beaumaris.
- This will bring you to Castle Street. The hotel will be on your left.
Parking:
Free parking is available at the hotel.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome, though they must not enter any of the public rooms.
