This family-run country hotel overlooks Harlech Castle and rests opposite the championship Royal St. David's golf course.
The hotel is easily accessible by picturesque country roads off of all major motorways to the west. Overlooking by the ancient fortress of Harlech Castle, the refurbished Y Branwen Hotel offers comfortable double or twin bedrooms in pleasant surroundings. Guests can enjoy excellent amenities and superb food prepared by the resident experienced chef. In the brasserie, visitors can enjoy freshly prepared local produce, cooked to order. The menu is changed regularly and there is an excellent wine list. There is also a cosy wine bar plus lounge bar serving a wide range of keg and traditional cask ales, lagers, ciders and bottled beers.
This is a non-smoking establishment. Regrettably, due to the nature of the bedrooms, we are not suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
7 newly decorated rooms offer contemporary light oak furniture and Egyptian cotton bed lined. Each en suite room offers the facilities listed in "room descriptions" as well as LCD TVs. All rooms can be let for double, twin or single occupancy. One room is large enough for a family of 4.
Set beneath the World Heritage site of Harlech Castle, Y Branwen is opposite the Royal St David's golf course. Nearby are magnificent sandy beaches, tennis courts, a swimming pool and a theatre. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful countryside and majestic mountains
Local attractions include the Italianate village of Portmeirion. the Ffestiniogg railway, Snowdon and various slate mines.
By Public Transport:
Harlech railway station and the nearest bus stop are about 200 yards away. There is a local taxi service.
By Car:
- Harlech is on the A496 and is about 2 hours drive from Manchester Airport and 3 hours drive from Birmingham Airport.
