With its six en-suite bedrooms, this heavily beamed, impressive Grade II listed, cruck-beamed barn stands tucked away in tranquil meadows, on the owners’ 200-acre farm. The barn enjoys magnificent views over the surrounding countryside towards the Forest of Dean. The medieval cruck-beamed wing, open to full height, was built in the 15th century and now makes up the living area with gallery. The heavily beamed 16th-century wing has been thoughtfully restored to provide comfortable en-suite accommodation. The barn is particularly suitable for family holidays and reunions, and the dining area is perfect for entertaining. There is a large mature garden where seating is provided in quiet spots to fully appreciate the views and bird life. Colourful trees and shrubs lead the way to a 1-acre games lawn (shared with owners) where croquet, garden skittles, sandpit and a children’s play area can be enjoyed. There are walks from the door in this area of Great Landscape Value.
Hereford (12 miles) offers a good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs. The cider industry here is very prolific and enthusiasts should visit local cider makers and Hereford Cider Museum. Other places of interest include Hereford Cathedral, Mappa Mundi Centre and the chained library. The Herefordshire/Welsh borderland offers an excellent range of walks suitable for all ages and levels and enjoys fabulous panoramic views with many historic castles and beautiful ancient churches to explore.
