Traditional toll house
A unique opportunity to stay in one of the finest examples of Wales’ landmarks, a traditional toll house located in Carmarthenshire. This detached holiday property was once a victim of the famous Rebecca Riots which took place between 1839 and 1843. They were a protest against the high tolls which had to be paid on the local turnpike roads. Now a tranquil setting, enjoy the Welsh countryside and surrounding views. Within easy reach are nearby facilities such as golf courses, steam railway and Wales’ famous gold mines. Nearby are the National Botanical Gardens. Within a short drive is Tenby, which also has sandy beaches, and for a family day out there is Oakwood Theme Park, Manor House Wildlife Park (owned by Anna Ryder Richardson), Caldrey Island with its Cistercian monastery and countless historic castles such as Carew and Pembroke Castle (the birthplace of Henry Tudor).
Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beams. 1 double bedroom. Shower room with toilet (accessed via bedroom).
Elec NSH, elec, bed linen and towels inc. Freeview TV. Elec cooker. F/freezer. Parking (2 cars). ......
