Occupying an isolated location within 1½ acres of its own woodlands, orchard, paddock and formal terraced gardens and situated within the Snowdonia National Park, Garddynys (Garden Island) commands views of the Mawddach Estuary, Cader Idris mountain range, woods and fields. This is a modern, light-filled, split-level, detached house decorated throughout in contemporary style. The living room is on the first floor and one of the bedrooms boasts a balcony. There are many places to sit and relax outside the house - terraces, patio, decking area, secluded corners, and a very popular covered loggia area accessed from the kitchen/dining room with table and chairs for alfresco dining, and all commanding excellent views.
Near the village of Bontddu, this holiday property is ideally situated between sea and mountains. In Barmouth (Abermaw), with its beautifully restored quaint quayside area, visitors can sit outside the small pavement cafes and enjoy the spectacular views overlooking boats in the harbour and the Mawddach Estuary. Children can spend time crabbing or playing on the long sandy Blue Flag beach. Beside the shops at the harbour end, ascend the ancient pathways and steps up to ‘The Rock’, the original old town of Barmouth, with its charming old cottages leading up to the mountainside (the first land donated to the N.T.). Inland is the interesting market town of Dolgellau with shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Other places of interest to visit include slate caverns, Harlech Castle, King Arthur’s Labyrinth and Centre for Alternative Technology all within 20 miles. Shops 4 miles.
