Tresaith can be found along the West coast of Wales in the county of Ceredigion. The village forms part of the Ceredigion Heritage Coastline, where visitors to the area can take walks and admire the magnificent views of the Irish Sea. | Tresaith translates simply as ‘town of seven’. According to some, the village name derives from the legend surrounding seven Irish princesses. The princesses were so rebellious that their father, the king of Ireland, lost patience and cast them out to sea in a boat. The boat eventually washed up at Tresaith and there the seven princesses found seven local Welsh men, married and settled in the village. The less romantic amongst us might say the village name might come from the river Saith, which flows into the sea at Tresaith.

Wildlife abounds in this part of Ceredigion. A variety of seabirds come to the area and grey seals have been spotted in the sea. However, the most exciting animals to be seen are the dolphins, who frequent Tresaith’s beach during the summer months. The beach itself is sandy, and popular with sailors, windsurfers, swimmers and surfers. A slipway gives easy access onto the sand and there are shops nearby.
